Day 00: Oct 27 (Mon): Depart USA
Day 01: Oct 28 (Tue): Arrive Tokyo
Upon your arrival at Tokyo airport, our driver will be waiting for you outside the customs and then the driver will transfer you to the hotel. Relax during the remainder of the day.
Day 02: Oct 29 (Wed): Arrival Frankfurt, (Cologne & Aachen)
Visit the Imperial Palace, Meji Jingu Shrine, Tsukiji Outer Market, Asakusa Sensoji Temple and Nakamise shopping street. (B+L)
Day 03 - Oct 30 (Thur): Tokyo
Day trip to Mt Fuji including Lake Kawaguchiko Cruise, Fuji Panorama Ropeway (or Arakurayama Sengen Park depending on conditions) (B+L)
Day 04 - Oct 31 (Fri): Tokyo
Free day to visit those sites in Tokyo that interest you in particular. (B)
Day 05 - Nov 01 (Sat): Fly Tokyo to Beijing (Flight Included)
Upon your arrival at Beijing airport, our guide will be waiting for you outside the customs of Beijing Airport, and then the driver will transfer you to the hotel. Relax during the remainder of the day. A welcome dinner is planned. (B+D)
Day 06 - Nov 02 (Sun): Beijing
Visit the world famous Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City this morning. To avoid the cheap tourist restaurant as the most are doing now, we specially serve you a welcome a la carte lunch at a local restaurant, where you can have a taste of authentic Chinese food and the most famous Peking Roast Duck. In the afternoon, visit the Yonghe Temple and the Temple of Heaven. Tonight, we go to a traditional Beijing Opera Show in Liyuan Theatre. (B+L)
Day 07 - Nov 03 (Mon): Beijing
Today's highlight is to visit the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. A round-trip cable car ride is included. Our guide will show you some restaurants for lunch (on your own). Drive back downtown in the afternoon and have a photo stop at the Olympic National Stadium (Bird's Nest), you will admire the
splendid building from a distance. Afterwards, take a rickshaw tour to explore the original Hutong alleys and have a chance to visit a local family courtyard house. Dinner at a local restaurant. (B+D)
Day 08 - Nov 04 (Tue): Beijing - Xi'an (flight: 2 hours - included)
In the morning, meet with cute pandas at the Panda House of Beijing Zoo and then visit the imperial Summer Palace. After that, take a flight to Xi'an and check in at the hotel. (B+L)
Day 09 - Nov 05 (Wed): Xi'an
Today's highlight is to visit the Terracotta Army Museum and then make a mini clay warrior by yourself with the help of a local artisan. In the afternoon, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. A splendid evening is in store when you will be entertained by the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show while partaking of the famous Dumpling Dinner. (B+D)
Tip:
Dumplings are a traditional local food in northern China and are made of wheat flour with various indigenous fillings. This has long been a favorite food of the local people, so we have arranged for you to have a taste of this specialty today. You will also have an opportunity to learn more about the diversified Chinese food culture.
Day 10 - Nov 06 (Thu): Xi'an
The day begins with a leisure visit to the City Wall Park, where you can observe the day-to-day life of the locals and learn to practice Tai Chi from the master. Then continue to visit the ancient City Wall for an exciting experience. Around noon, explore the lively Muslim Quarter and try the local food there for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Great Mosque and the Small Wild Goose Pagoda which also houses Xian Museum. (B+L)
Day 11 - Nov 07 (Fri): Xi'an - Guilin (flight: 2 hours - included)
This morning, take a flight to Guilin and check in at the hotel. Visit the Reed Flute Cave and the Elephant Trunk Hill. Dinner at a local restaurant. (B+ D)
Day 12 - Nov 08 (Sat): Guilin - Yangshuo - Guilin
Appreciate the Li River scenery by cruising down from Guilin to Yangshuo. Disembark at Yangshuo and walk through the famous West Street. After that, we will be driven to the countryside of Yangshuo to soak up the amazing rural views and pay a visit to a local villager's home. Finally, we will drive back to
Guilin. (B+L)
Tip:
The lunch served on the cruise today is simple Chinese box lunch.
Day 13 - Nov 09 (Sun): Guilin - Chongqing (High Speed Train: 5 hours - included)
Take a morning high speed train for around 5 hours to Chongqing. When you arrive, your guide will help you check in at the luxury cruise ship. The buffet dinner will be served on board. Tonight, we are invited to attend the Welcome Party hosted by the Captain. (B+D)
Day 14 - Nov 10 (Mon): Yangtze River Cruise Tour
After breakfast, disembark for an excursion to the Fengdu Ghost City. Afternoon is free time for you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Yangtze River on deck. Attend some cultural programs onboard if you like. (B+L+D)
Day 15 - Nov 11 (Tue): Yangtze River Cruise Tour
The most essential part of your Yangtze River cruise tour comes today as the ship sails through the Three Gorges: Qutang, Wu and Xiling gorges. Experience an exciting onshore excursion to Shennv Stream. (B+L+D)
Day 16 - Nov 12 (Wed): Yichang - Shanghai (high speed train: 7.5 hours - included)
Disembark for an excursion to the Three Gorges Dam. After the excursion, visit the Three Gorges Tourist Center in Yichang. Our local guide will meet you there and escort you to the railway station for a high speed train to Shanghai. Be met and driven to the hotel on arrival. (B)
Day 17 - Nov 13 (Thu): Shanghai
This morning, visit Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden and explore its nearby traditional bazaar. A farewell a la carte lunch will be served at an elegant restaurant. After that, stroll along the thriving Bund area and then take a one-hour cruise tour on the Huangpu River. Finally, explore Tianzifang in the Former French concession, where modern art meets the old Shikumen houses and narrow alleyways. Upon returning to the hotel our guide will see you into the lobby to say bon voyage. (B+L)
Day 18 - Nov 14 (Fri): Departure from Shanghai
Today you will travel to the airport for your departing flight. We wish you a nice journey home and memories to last a lifetime. (B)
If time allows, ask me about flying out a couple days early to get over jetlag before the tour starts or add on a few days in Hong Kong after the tour ends (prices determined at time booking)
